During his eight years at Jack Britt High School, Coach Dague has taught World History, AP World History, and AP European History. During this time he also spent two summers as a faculty member at the University of Richmond’s Governor’s School for the Humanities and Visual and Performing Arts where he co-created a class on the history of global revolutions as told through a variety of social, artistic, and political lenses. He has also been fortunate to participate in a myriad of educational and professional opportunities which includes Governor Easley’s Real D.E.A.L. Initiative and The Educational Trust’s Dispelling the Myth. Coach Dague was also awarded the Joseph B. He is also an active member of Kappa Delta Pi, the International Honor Society in Education.

Prior to becoming the Head Coach in June 2010, he served as the Varsity Assistant Head Coach for one year and acted as the Junior Varsity Head Coach for four years. In his first three seasons as the Head Coach, the Buccaneers have improved in their win total each season, making the NCHSAA state tournament in eac season.

Over the past three years, Coach Dague has served as both an assistant coach (2011, 2012) and the head coach (2013) for Region Four in the Powerade State Games. Region Four finished 2-2 this past summer (2013) and played for the Bronze Medal.

Last but certainly not least, Coach Dague would like to dedicate this season, and all seasons to follow, to his late father and best friend James E. Dague who lost his courageous battle with cancer in October 2002. May you look kindly upon us with love and support.
