Background –

 

 A product of the Cumberland County Schools (graduate of 71st High School) Coach Combs has dedicated the last 27 years to the field of education. He has taught health and physical education at Stedman Junior High School, Mac Williams Middle School, and John Griffin Middle School. Coach Combs has also served as a middle school head football coach for over 25 years, winning numerous conference championships. Prior to his moving up to becoming a varsity coach this season, Coach Combs worked as an assistant baseball coach with the junior varsity team alongside Coaches Dague and Bergamine. Coach Combs' son (Jordan) is a Jack Britt product where he was a two-year letter winner on the baseball team. Coach Combs' undeniable love for the game and his positive relationships with the players makes him an invaluable asset to the program.

Background –

Coach Morehead is a product of Fayetteville, North Carolina, who has worked at Jack Britt High School since 2004. In his time at Jack Britt, Coach Morehead has taught business and marketing classes with a specialty in sports marketing and management. Along with teaching, Coach Morehead has earned extensive experience in coaching other sports to include: JV Boys’ Basketball (under the tutelage of Coach Isaiah “Ike” Walker), JV Girls’ Softball, as well as Varsity Football. Coach Morehead has served as the defensive backs’ coach for the last five years. Over those five years, the Varsity Football team has finished in the top two in the Mid-South Conference while also earning multiple trips to NCHSAA state playoffs with two appearances to the 4A State Championship game. 

Coach Morehead is married to his wife Shannon of almost two years. Coach Morehead has a stepson (Grayson) and he and Shannon are expecting their first child in May 2014.

Background –

 

A native of Fayetteville, Coach Adams is a graduate of Reid Ross High School. After transferring from East Carolina University, Coach Adams came back to Fayetteville where he played both baseball and football at Methodist College. After graduating from Methodist, he began his teaching career at Douglas Byrd Middle school where he spent the next fourteen years. He currently teaches physical education and health at John Griffin Middle School (alongside Coach Combs); he has served as the head baseball coach since 2005. His productivity and success at JGMS has allowed for young players to experience success much more quickly at the high school level.
